The following is being sent on behalf of Dr. Julia Ballenger, President of Faculty Senate, and Dr. Hongmei Jia, Chair of the Faculty Senate Awards Committee

Faculty Colleagues,

A&M-Commerce Administration has received the attached request for nominations for "Piper Professors of 2022." The University can nominate only one faculty member each year for the award. The Faculty Senate Awards committee will manage the collection and review of applications for faculty members who wish to apply.

The Faculty Senate awards committee will make a recommendation to the full Senate regarding which application should go forward from the University. The full Senate will then make a recommendation to Provost Humphreys. Each application will be forwarded to the Provost's office for consideration. The Provost will then make a recommendation to the President of the University, who will then make the University's recommendation to the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation.

The deadline for submission to the Piper Foundation is November 19, 2021. The President's Office has requested nomination material by November 8, 2021. Application material should be submitted to the Faculty Senate awards committee by October 25, 2021. Submit your completed application to Faculty.Awards at tamuc.edu<mailto:Faculty.Awards at tamuc.edu> on or before the October 25, 2021 deadline.

If you know of a faculty member who should apply, please encourage that individual to do so. Attached is the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation letter addressed to President Rudin. Nominees must complete the Piper Professor Nomination Form (see attachment) and electronically submit an application packet addressing each of the following items, which encompass the criteria used to make the selection.
