[VPAAEtal] National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) Membership

Faculty: 

TAMUC has secured institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity. The NCFDD is an independent community of faculty members, postdocs, and graduate students from more than 450 colleges and universities. Through the institutional membership with NCFDD, our faculty members and graduate students will have full and free access to professional development training and intensive mentoring programs.

The university's institutional membership is a university investment in mentoring and professional development, for faculty members of all ranks and for graduate students. 

Effective October 1, 2021, faculty members and graduate students will be able to activate their memberships. Once individuals have established user accounts, they can access a series of organized activities: training modules focus upon research productivity, setting priorities, developing strategies for mastering time management, and maintaining work-life balance; a library of webinars introduce topics such as awareness about privilege and bias, or avoiding burnout; an array of courses cover subjects such as developing book proposals or developing a clear tenure and promotion portfolio; the writing challenge can assist with committing proper time to research and creative activity.

You will need to activate your personal membership account to access the university's Institutional Membership. The attached flyer includes registration instructions.

The university will establish a faculty steering committee, which will be responsible for NCFDD oversight. The committee will also coordinate with the university’s existing support and resources, such as CITE, the teaching academy, or the training office. This committee also will be positioned to assist departments with sustained faculty and graduate student mentoring.
