REACH: Reimagining Educational Achievement Cultures in Higher Education
Faculty Recruitment Email
Dear Faculty Member,
Dr. Toni Sturdivant is inviting you to participate in Reimagining Educational Achievement Cultures in Higher Education (REACH) research study. Dr. Sturdivant is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors and barriers that either contribute to or inhibit undergraduate student success in Texas Higher Education. In partnership with ITHAKA, we will feed a student success dashboard to Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
This research will be exploratory in nature and will seek to answer the following research questions:
1. How is student success defined by various stakeholders in higher education?
2. What policies, programs, and practices within Texas higher education institutions contribute to student success?
3. What barriers or threats do current undergraduate students experience that impede student success?
4. What opportunities exist for current undergraduate students that facilitate student success?
5. To what extent are student success policies, programs, and practices aligned to students' needs?
Though there may not be a direct benefit to you, your participation will be a valuable contribution to our research, as findings could assist in the development of an equity-based framework that increases student success both before and after graduation.
We estimate that it will take you approximately 10 minutes to complete the attached socio-demographic form, and another 45 minutes to participate in the focus group.
If you are willing to participate in the study, please click on the link below, or copy and paste the entire URL (https://tamuc.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_beIt4PWs5RU04No )

Sincerely,
Toni Sturdivant, Ph.D.
