MEMORANDUM
To: All Department Heads and Academic Program Directors,
WEAVEonline users
From: Randy McBroom, Interim Associate VP, Academic Affairs
Re: WEAVEonline updates
Date: February 20, 2009
Just a note to be sure everyone is up to date on program academic
outcomes assessment plans, and their entry into the WEAVEonline system.
* At this time, the FY08 assessment plans for all graduate
programs should closed out in the system (outcomes assessed, results
entered, and any required action plans developed, as well as showing how
the results of the assessments were reviewed and used).
* FY09 assessment plans for ALL academic programs, both graduate
and undergraduate, should be entered into the system. Assessment of
these plans may begin as soon as data are collected on your outcomes
metrics. We will open up the FY10 plans the first of April to allow you
to begin closing out the FY09 plans and developing the FY10 plans.
Next month we will receive notice of our SACS five year review. This is
a new process for SACS and we will be in one of the first cohorts to go
through this - they have allowed us to incorporate the Mid-term review
we were required to submit on Graduate Programs Outcomes Assessment into
this so that we do not have to submit two documents a year apart. We
were told at the SACS meetings this past December that learning outcomes
assessment would be a major component of the five year review, so we
must get this area up to date.
The second week of March we will be printing out the WEAVEonline reports
for Graduate Programs for FY08, as well as the plans for FY09 for review
by President Jones and Interim Provost Peer (copies will also be
provided to academic deans) - please be sure your reports and plans are
up to date and entered into WEAVEonline by MARCH 10.
I am finishing up an Institutional Effectiveness Handbook for FY10 that
I plan to have out for everyone by the end of March at the latest.
Please contact me or Barbara Forbes, WEAVEonline administrator, if you
have any questions, or would like any help on this.
Thank you,
Randy
