Subject: [TACRAO] Listserv Transcript Requests

We are reviewing our methods for processing of, and delivery of, official
transcripts. Specifically our questions deal with students who are not
local and are unable to come to our office to pick up their transcripts
and they are sending in their request forms.

Your response with answers to the following would be very helpful.

1) Approximate time frame for completion of request (from receipt of
request form to sending transcript) Online & mailed requests are printed
within a business day of receipt of the request. The only exception is
students with holds (obviously) and those with records that predate our
current SIS. Those we try to have out within 48-72 hours max.

2) Do you ever "rush" the clearing process for a student, and if so
do you charge an additional fee? How much? Our current delivery is
essentially on-demand, so no need for "rush" delivery - no charge. If it
is to the student's benefit and time is sensitive, we can jump the que and
print a student's transcript immediately for delivery to the post office
same day rather than wait for automatic overnight processing - again no
charge. The exception would be for students wanting a .PDF version. This
is delivered online within minutes of the request and verification. This
service is provided through a 3rd party vendor(Credentials) and they do
charge a nominal fee for the service.

3) If you are willing to "rush" the clearing process, and electronic
delivery is not possible, are you willing to send the transcript
"overnight" via FedEX. If so, what are the charges involved? Credentials
offers overnight service through FedEX, so we direct students there when
they need it - domestic service is $18

4) If you are willing to "overnight" transcripts, do you have the
ability to do this via your campus mail service or must someone from your
office make a special trip to a FedEX provider? FedEX comes to us for
pickup on a daily, regular schedule.

5) Any other information you feel would be helpful to us?

Your time to respond is very much appreciated.
