[NewIntlStudents] FW: Health insurance waiver period has begun!

The waiver period for the System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP) has begun for international students.  THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT A WAIVER REQUEST IS SEPTEMBER 10, 2014.  Please note that students may only request a waiver of the SSHIP in certain circumstances and must provide the proof of the alternative health insurance coverage.  Coverage must comply with the requirements set by the A&M System regulations.  For a list of all eligible waivers please go to http://www.tamuc.edu/CampusLife/CampusServices/internationalStudentServices/insurance.aspx.  Please note that students with a full-time graduate assistantship who are covered under the GA insurance plan are not required to submit a waiver request.

All waiver requests are processed by the A&M System SSHIP broker Academic Health Plans (AHP).  Please allow AHP up to 7 business days to process your waiver request.  Waiver approvals are only valid for the semester in which the waiver is approved.  If you applied and were approved for a waiver in a previous term, you will need to apply again.  To submit your waiver requests go to https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/waiver.  Please note the deadline to submit your waiver request is September 10, 2014.
