[Journalism] Fall Scholarship Opportunity - Bell Endowment

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY, 2014-2015 ACADEMIC YEAR/RE-OPENED

The Journalism Division has been granted permission to re-open competition for the W.J. "Jack" Bell Journalism Endowment Scholarship.

It is open to current Journalism Division majors in news-editorial, public relations and the secondary certification in journalism.

It is important, however, that you read this notice carefully and that you follow the criteria for each scholarship.  If you fail to submit ALL of the criteria for a scholarship to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, you cannot be considered for an award by the Journalism Division faculty.  PLEASE READ AGAIN!

The criteria from the scholarship personnel say the student must submit two letters of recommendation "from outside the journalism faculty or from professional media personnel."  Also, submit a two-page, double-spaced statement of career plans, why you choose this career, and send a list of Journalism Division courses to be taken in the fall of 2014.

Finally, attach a copy of your Degree Works; the criteria say transcript.  A copy of your Degree Works is acceptable.  I have checked with Ms. Crystal Thomas about that requirement.

The amount of any scholarship can vary and depends upon available funds at the time of award.

The scholarship will be open until July 29, 2014.
