[Journalism] New information for The Paris News Scholarship.

[Kimberly Cook]

The Journalism Division will re-open competition for the $500.00
scholarship

awarded by The Paris News. The portal will be open January 6, 2014, and
the

deadline will be February 6, 2014. This is by agreement with Ms. Maria
Ramos of

the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship.

This gives you time before classes begin for the spring
term, and some time

after the session opens.

YOU MUST meet the deadline, and you must meet the CRITERIA
for the

scholarship as outlined. You cannot be considered for the award by the
journalism

faculty unless you meet the qualifications established with the News.

You may recall that none of the 12 applicants this fall
qualified.

If awarded, the grant may be used for the spring term,
according to Ms.

Ramos. I would hope we can give this scholarship to a journalism major
