>From Dr. Bridges to Journalism students:
Several students have indicated a need for Journalism 425, Public
Relations Case Studies, so that course will be offered Summer I term.
Prerequisites are listed, but in order to allow public relations
students to move forward in required courses, a student may be allowed
into J425 with permission. See Dr. Bridges.
Any Journalism Division student may take the course; news-editorial
sequence majors need six hours of electives in journalism, so this might
be a possibility for someone during the summer. See Dr. Bridges.
The course looks at case studies and publics in PR and, although J328
would be helpful, permission can be granted for J425 without that class.
If this is the case in your circumstance, see Dr. Bridges for details
and a permit if needed.
A tight budget this summer allows the Division to offer only J1307
(formerly J114) and J495 (internship).
See Dr. Bridges or Ms. Susan Osgood if you need help in registering this
summer, or for that matter, this fall. A separate message includes
information about the fall of 2011. Please note that the Department
cannot offer a course each semester; some classes are offered only in
the fall, and others only in the spring. Plan ahead.
