[Journalism] PLEASE READ

The Journalism Division has added a special topics class for the spring

> (2009) term in magazine work. It will be taught by Ms. Hannah Barton 

> and will include background about the magazine industry - past and 

> present - writing for magazines,and production and editing.  It will 

> build on J115 and will be open to students with permission only. The 

> class will be limited to an enrollment of 12-14 students.

>  

>     We have had several students express interest in magazines as a 

> career, and we this class should offer journalism and public relations


> students the opportunity to explore this exciting field of 

> professional work.  We hope this might be a first step in restoring a 

> magazine for the Division.  At one time, journalism students produced
a publication titled The Special.

>     Early registration for the spring semester will begin for students


> the week of October 12th.  Please address your questions to Ms.

> Barton or Dr. Bridges.

>  

>     Please note that the class will be limited and permission will be 

> required.
