If you are planning on traveling outside the U.S. this summer please
remember to review all of you immigration documents before your
departure as noted below:

* Valid visa- If your visa has expired or will expire this
summer and you depart the U.S. then you will need to renew your visa
before being eligible to re-enter the U.S. Please go to
http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html for more
information on renewing your visa.

* Valid passport- Your passport must be valid for at least six
months beyond the date of re-entry into the U.S. You may renew your
visa in your home country or by contacting your embassy within the U.S.
Please note that it may take up to 3 months or longer depending upon
your country to renew your passport.

* I-94- Your I-94 Arrival/Departure card must be submitted at the
port of entry PRIOR to departing the U.S. or there may be problems with
your re-entry to the U.S. at a later date. If you fail to submit your
I-94 before departing the U.S. please notify the ISSO. A new I-94 will
be issued when you re-enter the U.S.

* I-20 Please review your I-20's program end date on line 5 to
make sure your I-20 does not expire this semester. The travel
validation signature on the last page of your I-20 is valid for
12-month's from the date of the signature for re-entry. Example. Travel
validation signature on December 1, 2010 is valid for re-entry into the
U.S. until December 1, 2011. If you need a signature for travel please
come by the ISSO at least two weeks prior to your departure to request
the signature.

* Additional Documents- Port of entry advising recommends
student also be prepared to provide a transcript (official or
unofficial) and financial documentation showing $17500 USD (estimated
cost of study for one year at A&M-Commerce) when they re-enter the U.S.

For a very helpful FAQ on traveling outside the U.S. with an F-1 visa
please go to http://www.ice.gov/sevis/travel/faq_f.htm.

If traveling within the U.S. the ISSO STRONGLY recommends having all of
the above documents with you.
