It’s that time of year again, textbook adoptions for Spring 2017 are due! In order to get the best prices set for our students, the bookstore needs to know what textbooks you’re using in Spring 2017. We’ve moved the date from the Faculty Handbook’s October 15th to October 19th.

Remember, we compete with other university bookstores to obtain the lowest rental prices using a wholesaler bid process. The earlier we submit our book list, the higher bids we receive for books—those bids are subtracted from the retail prices of books to create our rental prices.

DOCUMENTS ATTACHED:

·         The list of courses for Spring 2017 with the previous book history to the right hand side to make textbook re-adoptions easier.

·         Current list of publisher representatives and web links for requesting desk copies, organized by publisher

·         Step-by-step instructions on using our online system:

·         to research current in-print books by subject matter

·         previous book history by course used at TAMU-C

·         submitting textbook adoptions that import directly into our system (prevents hand entry errors!)

HOW TO SUBMIT BOOK ADOPTIONS:
Not using a book?
If students will not need to purchase books for your class, let us know! We will mark your class as “No Text Required” on our website. This will help eliminate confusion and cut down on questions when each semester begins.

However, if your course requires a book students cannot purchase directly through the bookstore (web access products bought directly from the vendor, etc.), this does not qualify as “No Text Required”. Even if the bookstore does not sell the product, the bookstore will still need this information to load onto the site per the Higher Education Opportunity Act.

How do I submit textbook adoptions?
                You can do any of the following:

·         Email them to textbooks at tamuc.edu<mailto:textbooks at tamuc.edu>

·         Fax them to 903-886-3478

·         Submit via website by clicking the link for Faculty Adoptions<http://www.amcbookstore.com/FacultyAdoption/FacultyAdoption/> (You will need to set up an account with us if you have never entered textbooks through our site before, step-by-step instructions attached!)

What information does the bookstore need?

·         Department/Course/ Section (submit “EDCI.513.001” not “C&I for Elementary Math CRN# 480021” due to system limitations)

·         Instructor name

·         Estimated Class Enrollment

·         Author

·         Title

·         Edition

·         ISBN (most Important!)

·         Publisher
