Dear Faculty,

 

Please read the thread below regarding our enrollment. Please help
ensure that all qualified students are enrolled in classes. Please be
aware that temporary permission was granted to the registrar to enroll
qualified students in full classes without instructor permit. Also,
please be aware we have funds to create new sections if necessary.

Colleagues,

 

Please see Dr. Jones comments regarding the attached enrollment report.
Please ensure that we accommodate all students. If necessary, increase
any caps that limit student enrollment into a course. Also, we have
funds to create new sections, if necessary. 

 

It is imperative that we increase enrollment. During a base year our SCH
productivity will determine our funding from the state for the next two
years. Therefore, it is imperative that we all pitch in to increase
enrollment. we have many financial needs, including new faculty lines,
merit increases, etc. We need to do all we can to increase enrollment
during the summer and fall.

 

Deans, at Deans Council on Tuesday, please be prepared to discuss any
closed classes and also articulate to Dr. Benavides what you are doing
to increase enrollment.

All,

These numbers are unacceptable. It is imperative that all qualified
students are able to register tomorrow. We are in a base period. There
will be no closed sections - all qualified students will be
accommodated. Please contact me directly with concerns.

	I will begin sending daily enrollment reports for Summer I.
Please note that we still have issues with the Colleges of Business and
Education. These reports will not have the enrollment broken down by
department. Weekly reports will continue on Fridays to reflect the
breakdown. Recruiters are calling students who have been admitted, but
are not enrolled. We are going to need all hands on deck to address this
shortfall.
