[VPAAEtal] Fall Grading

Dear University Faculty,

This is a friendly reminder that the final grading period for Fall is fast approaching. Fall 2014 grade worksheets will be available on December 5th and will close at 5 p.m. on December 15th. It is very critical that we have your grades by this deadline to ensure that we have time to run our end of term processes for our students before the university closes for the holidays.

These processes include but are not limited to:

*         Rolling grades to transcripts

*         Which then allows students to have final transcripts sent to perspective employers or graduate schools

*         Updating GPA's

*         Notifying our probation and suspension students of their academic status

*         Awarding certificates to students who are on the President's List and Dean's List

*         Awarding degrees for students who participate in the Fall commencement

*         Determining eligibility of students for their pending Spring financial aid

*         Admittance into our own graduate school

*         Spring registration for students awaiting final Fall grades

When we do not receive grades on time, the above processes are inevitably delayed for each student. For this reason, we strongly encourage faculty to submit grades to us as early as possible. If you feel that there will be any problem completing grading by the 15th of December at 5 p.m., please do not hesitate to let me know.

*Administrative assistants, please forward this information to any adjuncts who do not have a university e-mail.
