[VPAAEtal] Piper Professor - Faculty Senate Awards Committee

Attached and below  is the announcement for the Piper Professor Award,
along with this year's requirements.    

 

Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award - 2014

 

The Faculty Senate Awards Committee is accepting nominations for the
2014 Piper Professor representing Texas A&M University - Commerce. The
award is based on recognition of the collegiate teaching profession
rather than to research, publication, administration, or other related
activities. The honoree will be awarded a certificate naming them "Piper
Professors of 2014", a cash honorarium of $5,000, and a gold
commemorative pin.

 

Requirements: Full time instructor (including Assistant Professor,
Associate Professor, or Professor).

 

Process: Each full time faculty can submit a nomination; however, you
cannot nominate yourself. One person per department would be ideal.
Submit a brief biographical sketch and CV via email to 
beverly.luke at tamuc.edu <mailto:beverly.luke at tamuc.edu> . The Faculty
Senate Awards Committee will screen nominees. 

 

Timeline: The initial application must be received no later than October
24, 2013. The Committee will review the nominations and select the top 5
finalists by November 4, 2013. Those selected as finalists (5) will be
asked to complete the Piper Award application, return to the Committee,
and then it will be forwarded to the Provost and President for final
selection by November 11, 2013. The winner will be selected by November
25, 2013.
