To All Faculty/Staff:

 

Please be advised that Dr. Brent Mangus, Dean, College of Education and
Human Services and Professor, Department of Health and Human
Performance, has requested permission to step down as dean, effective at
the end of this semester, to resume his faculty career.  Accordingly, I
have recommended the request be granted and the President subsequently
has approved it.  Given the timing of this matter and its importance to
the University, an appropriately thorough, national search for a
permanent successor cannot begin until after the holidays.  Plans are
consequently now under consideration for temporary, ad interim coverage
of the office in the months immediately ahead. The campus will be
informed of the outcomes of those plans as soon as they are known.

 

Finally and most importantly, as opportunities present in the days
ahead, I hope you might have an opportunity to join me in expressing
both our appreciation to Brent for his services to the University as
dean the past five years as well as our best wishes for his successful
return to the faculty.
