Hello All, 

 

I wanted to invite each of you/your classes to attend and/or participate
in the 2009 Wellness Expo.  I encourage each of you to invite your
classes to attend this event as well or incorporate it into your
syllabus in some way.  

 

The Wellness Expo hosts a variety of vendors from the local communities,
including the metroplex area.  They provide screenings, demonstrations,
education and give-aways concerning the seven dimensions of wellness:
Emotional, Physical, Spiritual, Intellectual, Social, Environmental and
Occupational.  

 

Some ways to incorporate participation at the Wellness Expo into your
class include:

*         Ask your students to attend the event, we will have sign-in
sheets if needed, and write a paper over information they received or
have then seek specific information.

*         Ask your students to create a booth about a wellness topic
pertinent to your class.  We will be sending out information inviting
students to do so by September 15th.

*         Ask your students to volunteer on the day of the event for
service hours.

need assistance from the Wellness Expo Planning Committee, please

The Wellness Expo will be held on Wednesday, November 18th from 10am -
2pm in the Sam Rayburn Student Center Ballrooms.
