Good Afternoon!

I am sure by now you have all noticed locks on multimedia classroom doors
that require a card to enter. Following is a brief status report concerning
those locks:

The BA building was scheduled to be the building used for the pilot test.
Department heads and departmental admin assistants were notified by Mark
Giossi in facilities and provided training. Departments affected were MIS,
ECO/FIN/ACCT, MKT/MGT, BAAS and the Dean's office. This has taken place and
all doors are working with the cards in the BA building.

About six weeks ago, we had an older computer CPU go missing in the AG/IT
building. It was decided at that time to go ahead and get that building
online ASAP. The electronic door locks on classrooms in the AG/IT Building
are also now functional.

All buildings will be up and working with the card swipe system at the start
of the spring semester. When all classrooms are fully online in all
buildings, ALL faculty ID cards will open ALL classroom doors (with the card
swipe) in ALL buildings. ALL admin assistants ID cards will open ALL
classroom doors (with the card swipe) in the building where their office is
located.

There has been a glitch or two because a faculty member does not have a Lion
card - this is the only card that will trigger the doors to lock or unlock.
When this is discovered, the faculty member is asked to obtain a Lion card.
Additionally, if you are in a building and notice a door with the card swipe
lock on it left open, please close that door.

The card swipe locks work like this:

One swipe will unlock the door to allow entry, the door remains locked after
the initial entry.

Two swipes will unlock the door and it will remain unlocked until it is
locked back.

Two more swipes will lock the door again.

Computer labs have been programmed to allow access to specific people only
(a list of those people have been obtained from the lab manger). Lab doors
are fully functioning now.

Distance Education classrooms have been programmed to allow access to
specific people only. These classroom doors are fully functioning now.

ALL doors automatically lock at 10:00 P.M. ALL doors will remain locked on
weekends and holidays.

If you have questions or need additional information, please let me know.

Thank you!

Charlotte
