Course Inventory & Schedule Coordinator

Prairie View A&M University invites applications for the position of Course Inventory & Schedule Coordinator. This position is responsible for the implementation of the University's academic scheduling processing, with a concentration in academic classroom scheduling and editing.  Primary duties include, but are not limited to, updating and maintaining the inventory of courses along with the relative course attributes such as core curriculum designation, special topics, pre-requisites, and distance delivery options in the Banner system; preparing the Coordinating Board report for the submission of these changes to the State; developing the timeline for course section build and setting the maintenance windows in preparation for registration; monitoring and reviewing the department's course section creations for accuracy and adherence to the state, system and university policies via workflow and other tools; coordinating regular reviews of the course schedule with the specialized college/department schedulers to assure the accuracy of all course sections those rolled or newly created for registration; and processing requests and assigns rooms for special events.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for processing requests to establish Special Topics course sections and monitors the schedule to assure that all Special Topics Courses display the actual specific topic before students register, processing approved request for Independent Study.
Prairie View A&M University, a member of the Texas A&M University System, is a public land grant university located 45 miles northwest of Houston, Texas, the nation's fourth largest city. QUALIFICATIONS: Interested applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Please note that eight years of the related minimum experience is the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree for this position.  Three to five years of experience with classroom scheduling in an educational environment is required with a Bachelor's degree. The successful candidate must have the ability to interact with department heads and work a defined or flexible schedule when required.  The successful candidate must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and good computer skills to include the use of the MS Office Suite.
