We need to spend time working on our own needs in order to continue our
practice of advocating for others. Self care has always been our mantra
for clients.

We ask that you also send it to your colleagues who may want to help us
extend our reach in promoting local and legislative advocacy in the
coming year. We will be soliciting members and non-members who are
licensed or unlicensed to come to Austin on March 5, 2013 for the Social
Work Advocacy Day (SWAD) program to advocate for the three top issues
that the NASW Board has designated as priority, that are:

*	Raise reimbursement rates for clinical social workers; establish
pay levels of public sector entry-level baccalaureate social workers
(BSWs) that are comparable to public sector entry-level baccalaureate
teacher pay levels.
*	Establish a Social Work Center for Workforce Studies (possibly
funded by a surcharge on social work licensing fees).
*	Create a social worker loan repayment program (possibly funded
by tobacco settlement funds).

See the attached flier for details. See you there.

Respectfully,

Bert Beauman
