Presents the First Annual
Change-Maker Award Banquet
April 20, 2021
6:00pm - 8:00pm

The Office of Intercultural Engagement and Leadership is excited to present the First Annual IEL Change-maker Award Banquet to recognize outstanding change-makers within the TAMUC Community.

This will be an evening of celebration and recognition with a plated dinner and entertainment.  The awards will focus on the four pillars of the IEL Mission, which are Inclusion, Leadership, Service and Social Justice.

Seven awards will be presented:

*         Inclusive Change-maker Award

*         Leadership Change-maker Award

*         Service Change-maker Award

*         The John Tave Social Justice Change-maker Award

*         Emerging Change-maker Award

*         Champion Change-maker Award

*         Top Change-maker Student Organization Award
IEL will be holding auditions for talent for this event. Master/Mistress of Ceremonies                           2
This 2-person team will assist in writing the script for the ceremony and hosting the evening keeping the flow of the program on track and entertaining. Audition - Write and perform a 5-minute opening for the Ceremony.  This can include welcome, introductions of dignitaries, explanation of the Change Maker Award, etc.  Also, one example of how you will handle a hiccup in the program.
Band                                                            1
We are seeking a band that will be play as guests come in and throughout dinner. They will be present throughout the program and able to jump in with music if there is a lull in the program.  A wide range of music is preferred as this is a multicultural audience.  Songs representing the four pillars of IEL would be preferred, even if instrumental.

Dance Group                                                  1
There will be one performance during dinner portion of banquet.  We are looking for a dynamic, exciting, and diverse dance group.  Any style dance (PG rated) is considered.
Poet/Rapper                                                            1
Requesting a poem, rap or essay to be written and recited for the closing act. The piece will need to speak on our four pillars:  Inclusion, Leadership, Service, and Social Justice.
