Hello all,

I hope that everyone's semesters have been going well and that you all have been able to stay safe and healthy during this chaotic year. We are Student Affiliates in School Psychology (SASP), a student group at TAMUC promoting issues relating to school psychology. Part of promoting issues in school psychology involves participating in National School Psychology Week (NSPW), a week dedicated to advocating for issues related to the field of school psychology. As part of NPSW 2020, SASP wants to include your organization in promoting a relevant issue for both the field of school psychology in your members' chosen career fields: Allyship.

Allyship is the practice of taking intentional actions to advance marginalized groups, and can include anti-racism, inclusion, and social justice. While these terms may appear to some to be buzz words, the principles of allyship and social justice have practical implications for our daily lives and future careers. As part of our promotion of allyship, we want to hear about your organization's views of and participation in allyship.

To share your views on allyship, we are asking members of your organization to record five-minute videos of themselves answering the following questions:

1. In your own words, what is social justice and equity?
2. What kinds of social injustice and inequities have you encountered
during your college experience?
3. How does your organization advance social justice and equity at
TAMUC?
4. Has your organization collaborated with others in advancing social
justice and equity? If so, in what ways?
5. Does your organization want to express some concerns with regards
to Texas A&M University-Commerce specifically? If yes, what?

If you are interested in participating, please send your video to tamucsasp at gmail.com<mailto:tamucsasp at gmail.com>. One of our SASP officers will edit your responses in a brief video that will be posted to the SASP social media. To give the officer time to edit the video, the deadline for submissions is November 8th, 2020, at 12:00 PM.

Thank you all for taking the time to consider this opportunity. For those of you who are interested, I encourage you to check out the flier attached to this email. We hope to hear back from you soon and look forward to hearing your perspectives!

Have a wonderful week.

Best.
