FYI, per Deepti's request, I have added Laurel Flores to the Owner &
Moderator administrator lists in the three Student Org List-serve
categories: Advisor, President & Representative.
She can send e-mails to the three list-serves using the following
addresses, as appropriate:
stuorg-adv at tamu-commerce.edu (e-mail to Advisors only)
stuorg-pres at tamu-commerce.edu (e-mail to Presidents only)
stuorg-rep at tamu-commerce.edu (e-mail to Representatives only)
She can now also access the list-serve approval screen for each group by
following these links:
http://mailman.tamu-commerce.edu/mailman/admindb/stuorg-adv (to approve
e-mails that are sent to Advisors)
http://mailman.tamu-commerce.edu/mailman/admindb/stuorg-pres (to approve
e-mails that are sent to Presidents)
http://mailman.tamu-commerce.edu/mailman/admindb/stuorg-rep (to approve
e-mails that are sent to Representatives)
I put these three addresses in my "Favorites" for quick access.
The List Moderator Password for all three is: 20list08
Laurel, you have to watch your "Junk E-mail" folder in Outlook for any
messages from the database asking you to go in and approve an e-mail
because Outlook dumps them in there. You get a hint when you get a
green number out to the right of the words "Junk E-mail" showing how
many messages you have.
In order to access the link located in the e-mail message, you will have
to move the e-mail to your Inbox, then click on it. Once you have
entered the password, you will see the e-mail message that is awaiting
your approval. You will see a hyperlink number in brackets. Click on
that, and it will open up the e-mail message for you to see it.
Usually, you can just look at the sender and subject line and determine
if the e-mail is safe to approve. I say that because sometimes we get
e-mails from outside people, and we have to deny those. When you're
sure the e-mail is safe, you will click on the word "Approve" on the
left, and the e-mail message will be sent to the appropriate
individuals. You will have to log in to each of the three list-serves
that the e-mail was sent to (look in the TO line), in order to approve
the messages going to the respective groups.
If this is too confusing, I will be happy to show you how it works, or
Deepti said she would.
Deepti, I left my name in the administrative list of owners and
moderators, but after I'm gone, you can go in and remove my e-mail
address, please.
Thank you,
Pat Perkins
