CITE – Policy Update: Verification Process for Password Resets
What Is Happening?
In accordance with A&M System Security Control Standards, new controls pertaining to Identity Proofing and Identity Evidence Validation and Verification have been approved by A&M System. Because this is a time-sensitive procedural implementation to address actively-exploited cyber risks, the implementation date is effective September 1, 2024.
Services/Applications Impacted:
Requests including, but not limited to account unlocks, password resets, and changes to information in DUO will require in-person or remote visual confirmation of each user's identity for each instance of the request being made.
What You Need To Do:
In order for A&M-Commerce I.T. to adhere with these controls, we are asking users to take a proactive approach by first submitting a ticket to helpdesk at tamuc.edu<mailto:helpdesk at tamuc.edu>, including a time range of availability to schedule a virtual meeting. If a user calls first, our call agents will assist with arranging a scheduled time. Please be prepared to show your University Campus Wide ID (CWID) or other photo identification, issued by a federal or state government authority of the United States or a visa issued by the U.S. Department of State, or a foreign passport issued by a Visa Waiver Program participating country.
You may also use the self-service portal to get your password reset as well. It can be reset at https://appsprod.tamuc.edu/PasswordReset/Default.aspx or by clicking the "Forgot Password" button in myleo.
