[Students] FW: After the Fire Event - September 7th

[A&M-Commerce Students]

Residential Living and Learning and the University Police Department are collaborating to host "After the Fire" on September 7th at 6:30 pm in the RSC Conference Rooms. I have attached both flyers for the event.

After the Fire is a fire and life safety presentation from two college residence hall fire survivors. Not only will the audience learn fire safety tips, but they will gain a deeper appreciation of the power from within that comes when facing and overcoming adversities.

The presentation includes the showing of a powerful documentary and reading from the New York Times Best-Selling book, "After the Fire", followed by a discussion and Q & A session. Topics include:
* Fire safety and prevention tips
* Pranking and the consequences of your actions
* Learning to love yourself despite your scars, your flaws or your imperfections
* Escape planning and complacency
* Forgiveness
* Overcoming adversity

The residence hall and registered student organization with the most participants will win a prize.
