Rumor Has It......
If a student is in their last semester and needs less than 6 credit hours to complete the degree, rumor has it that the student can add any other 3 hour class, even if it is not part of the degree, to make the 6 credit hour minimum required enrollment for financial aid because it is their last semester.
This rumor is not correct.
A student needs to be in 6 credit hours to receive financial aid and cannot simply add a course in order to make the required 6 credit hours even if it is in their last semester.
If the student needs less than 6 credit hours to graduate, and is in good standing the student can apply for the Homer Tate Enrollment Initiative Scholarship program. Information on the Homer Tate Enrollment Initiative Scholarship program is available at Homer Tate Initiative Scholarship program. <http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/tuitionCosts/financialAidandScholarships/scholarships/TexasAMUniversityCommerceScholarships/homerTateInitiativeScholarship.aspx>
