MAYMESTER 2016 FOR ALL MAJORS: The School of Agriculture offers EQSC 497 Basic Horsemanship/ Equitation Location: TAMUC Equine Center
Date: May

Open for all majors who want to learn horse riding and get more confidence around horses.
Three semester hours. Introduces the basics of horseback riding and horsemanship. Emphasis will be on learning how to care for a horse, tack a horse (English and Western), and basic riding skills. Students will learn how to walk, trot, canter, and jump/ manoeuver small obstacles.
Prerequisites: none
Rationale of the course: The course content enhances students’ ability to handle and ride horses. Ideal for students with no or little previous horse experience, students who have not ridden horses for a while, or students seeking to build their confidence handling and riding horses.

Balanced Living Workshop
Location: Counseling Center - Halladay Building
Cost: Free!
Are you dealing with anxiety, depression, unsuccessful relationships, and/or would like to learn strategies for managing life more effectively?  If so, then this is for you.  Designed as a drop-in 5-week workshop, each session is designed to teach students skills about mindfulness, self-compassion, emotional regulation, optimal living, and interpersonal effectiveness.   Participants will gain a better understanding about themselves and develop tools to successfully manage unproductive emotional, behavioral, and thinking patterns.
