Latinos in Sports - "Brown Bodies in the Big Leagues: A Conversation on Latinos in the NFL and MLB"
Date: November 25, 2013
Time: 12:00p-1:30p
Location: Hall of Languages 203
How have Latinos impacted the history and development of two of the largest sports organizations in the world, the NFL and the MLB? Two leading scholars of Latino pop culture and history offer a sustained scholarly conversation that seeks to answer this question. As the Latino/a demographic continues to expand in the U.S., Professors González and Iber offer a thought-provoking event that reveals how these popular sports provide a window into the history of the Latino/a experience in America.
This event is free and open to the public.
