[Students] In good hands with IT

The IT Support Center continues to make significant strides to help you
with your IT needs. Here are a few tips that will help us facilitate
your requests as quickly and efficiently as possible.

 

*	Please send initial support emails to helpdesk at tamuc.edu

	*	Please do not include any specific technician in the
email as they may be out of the office or otherwise busy and unable to
help you quickly and efficiently.

 

*	When sending an email to helpdesk at tamuc.edu, you will receive an
automated response. Our helpdesk technicians will read your email,
create a ticket and route the ticket to the appropriate technicians who
can help you with your question/problem. 

 

After the ticket has been entered into our tracking system, you will
then receive an automated email from itsupport at tamuc.edu 

 

*	When sending a support email, please include the following
information:

	*	Enter your first and last name in the subject line of
your email.  
	*	If  you are a student, please include your CWID along
with your name. 

		*	Building and room number
		*	A  phone number where you can  be reached for
questions
		*	Inventory number of the computer or printer
		*	Operating System
		*	Indicate if  anyone in your area is having the
same  problem
		*	A detailed explanation of the problem 
		*	Any relevant error messages and screen shot of
error

 

*         Our technician will contact you directly to work on your
ticket.

When replying to a ticket from the technician, please do not change the
subject line or return address, as these are critical to the automatic
routing of your message. This will ensure that all correspondence about
a given ticket is recorded in the helpdesk system.

 

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Help Desk at
903-468-6000 (off campus) x6000 (on campus).
