University Police Share tips to Students, Faculty and Staff
The university police will begin parking enforcement Tuesday Sept 3,
2012, please be sure you have purchased and applied your 2012-2013
parking permit. You must have a permit to park on campus at all times.
Observe all signs and painted curbs, they will assist you in finding
your designated parking area. Permits may be purchased at the cashier's
window, at the Business Administration building or the Student Access
and Success Center. If you have a question or need assistance, contact
the University Police Department at 903-886-5868 24 hours a day for
service.
Let's work together to provide a safe campus; please limit your speed to
20 mph on campus streets and 10 mph in the parking lots. Please use
caution while driving by observing all warning signs.
Crosswalks are for pedestrians please use caution and don't assume that
approaching vehicles will stop. Avoid using cell phones and texting
while crossing the streets so that you are alert to any traffic danger.
Bikers may not ride across crosswalks, instead walk the bike across.
Bikes, must abide by all state laws while operating on the roadway.
Currently we allow bike access on the walking mall and sidewalks
however, we request that you control your speed and yield to all
pedestrians for everyone's safety. Bikes may only be chained to bike
racks and not other objects such as stair rails, trees or other
fixtures. Bicycles may not be taken into buildings.
Dogs must be on leashes while on university property and must have
current and proper vaccinations. Pets are not allowed in the buildings
unless they are service animals.
