TRiO Programs
*Application Deadline: February 21, 2011*
The McNair Scholars Program is a FREE federally-funded TRIO program at
194 institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico by the U.S.
Department of Education. It is designed to prepare undergraduate
students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other
scholarly activities. McNair Scholars participants are either
first-generation college students with financial need, or members of a
group that is traditionally underrepresented in graduate education and
have demonstrated strong academic potential. The goal of the McNair
Scholars Program is to increase graduate degree awards for students from
underrepresented segments of the society

* Scholarship Assistance
* Financial Aid Assistance and Financial Literacy
* GRE Test Preparation
* Faculty Mentors
* Research Opportunities
* Assistance with Graduate School Admissions
* Summer Program Research/ Internship Stipends
* Graduate School Fairs
* Local/Regional/ National Conferences
Undergraduates seeking opportunities to conduct meaningful research with
a faculty mentor, with a plan to complete their undergraduate studies,
pursue and complete their doctoral degree (PhD) may be eligible for the
McNair Scholars Program. Applications for the McNair Scholars Program
are available at the TRiO Programs McNair Scholars Office- 302C
Halladay, Student Services Building Monday thru Friday 8 am until 5pm.
