[SPS] SPS Announcement

[Matt Wood]

Thank you for your service, Bernadette, you did a great job as President and I appreciate the long hours you put in to get the job done!

And also a belated Texas Sized Thank You to everyone for your participation in Physics Day last weekend. It was a great success due in no small part to your efforts. You put on a good show for the prospective students and give them a view of what their life could be like if they major in physics. Again, my thanks to you all who participated!

Hello SPS,

It is with a slight heavy heart that I announce my resignation as president. After long contemplation, I have decided that my extremely busy research and academic duties would hamper my ability to be an effective and involved leader. I have had a terrific time both last semester and this semester spending time with everyone, and would like to emphasize how grateful I am for all of the support along the way. That being said, I am happy to announce that Melanie Schroers will take my former position. I have extreme confidence in her ability to be an awesome leader. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Thank you,

Bernadette Johnson
