Today I attended the seminar where 5 of my fellow REU partipants did
fantastic jobs presenting.
3 of the chicks in Dr. M's incubator hatched and a 4th was making his way
out. Christina and I made sure to introduce the "first born" to anyone and
everyone who passed by.
As far as work toward my project today . . . I had one surviving tadpole,
so I checked to see how the transfection was under the wide-field
fluorescent microscope. Unfortunately, it was not good. Thus, I plan to
inject/electroporate/transfect some more tadpoles Sunday evening when I
return (after our planned activity).
The bacterial culture I started yesterday did not grow for some reason, so I
placed it back in the incubator to see if it improves over the weekend. I
will start another culture to place in the incubator on Sunday evening while
I'm in the lab working on the tadpoles.
I also did some more literature research today.
