Today I checked my tadpoles to see if they were successfully transfected, 
but, aside from the occasional transfected neuron, there was mostly just 
autofluorescence in the meninges and skin cells.  Therefore, I did another 
round of injections/electroporations today.  I will check to see if I 
successfully transfected the neurons tomorrow.

We received another shipment of tadpole eggs today which I emptied into two 
separate containers.  For some reason, this shipment and the previous one 
had a VERY low fertility ratio, yielding precious few tadpoles.  I am almost 
completely out of the little guys (which is pretty amazing considering how 
many there were just 3 weeks ago!).

Another mystery is why my GCAMP/Kanamycin culture just simply will not grow. 
  I started a culture last Thursday and, since it was not growing, started 
another one yesterday which also did not grow as expected.  Dr. M used a 
different GCAMP starter culture this time and incubated another 
GCAMP/Kanamycin culture today.  Isn't 3 times a charm?
