[phas-faculty_staff_others] FW: Final exams

Dean Graham asked me to remind all instructors of the following procedures concerning final exams.

This week, Dec 4-8, is the last week of classes. NO FINAL EXAMS should be given this week.

Next week, Dec 9-15, is the designated final exam week. All final exams should be given then; synchronous (face-to-face) courses should use the assigned final exam time for their class. https://inside.tamuc.edu/admissions/registrar/academiccalendars/final-exam-schedule.aspx

These rules are set by Texas Administrative Code: Traditionally-delivered three-semester-credit-hour courses should contain 15 weeks of instruction (45 contact hours) plus a week for final examinations so that such a course contains 45 to 48 contact hours depending on whether there is a final exam.

Grades will be due by the close of business on Monday Dec 18.

Cheers,
Kurtis

Good Afternoon CoSE Leadership Team,

As everyone is aware this week is the last week of classes. Next week, December 9-December 15, is designated as final exam week. There should be NO FINAL EXAMS given this week. Per the Texas Administrative Code, Traditionally-delivered three-semester-credit-hour courses should contain 15 weeks of instruction (45 contact hours) plus a week for final examinations so that such a course contains 45 to 48 contact hours depending on whether there is a final exam. All classes are expected to be held on next week to include the final exam in some form.

Please remind your faculty of this very important and required practice.

Thanks,

Andrea
