[phas-dept] Visiting schedule of Joshua Hooker on Thursday

Mr. Joshua Hooker is a Ph.D student at Texas A&M University. He is on track to receive his Ph.D in experimental nuclear physics by the end of this year. When he was an undergraduate and graduate student here a few years ago, he worked with Dr. Newton and me on nuclear reactions and neutron stars. He is coming to visit this Thursday. Here is his schedule:

(1) 9:30-10:45am, give a seminar in 103 on his thesis work (abstracted attached) and talk to our current graduate students on applying to and surviving/succeeding in top Ph.D programs under the guidance of a well-known professor who meets with all of his graduate students in a group meeting EVERYDAY at 8am.

(2) 2-3:30pm in the student lounge chatting with current undergraduates on whatever......
ALL PASS scholars are strongly encouraged to attend, there is a sign-in sheet for you to sign. If for some reasons you can not attend, please email me in advance so that we can better accommodate you in similar PASS activities in the future.
