[NewIntlStudents] Full course of study requirement

[New International Students]

The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) would like to remind all F-1 and J-1 students that the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) requires all F-1 and J-1 international students that they must enroll in a full course of study each fall and spring semester.

There are very limited exceptions allowed by SEVP and the ISSS cannot grant any exceptions outside SEVP guidelines.   Attached is a handout that addresses all exceptions as well as examples of enrollment requirements for students for the full course requirement, students in their final semester, and students with full-time assistantships.

PLEASE REVIEW THIS HANDOUT TO ENSURE YOU ARE ENROLLED AS REQUIRED.  Starting next week the ISSS will begin reporting student's enrollment to SEVP and if you have failed to enroll correctly this may lead to problems with your visa status and may jeopardize your ability to remain in the U.S.
