The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) has emailed all students who have been charged for the System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP). Please DO NOT ignore these emails. Attached is a Frequently Asked Questions handout for the SSHIP that includes information about the waiver process, payment options, and benefit information.
If the $846.00 SSHIP DOES NOT show up on your account please email IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu<mailto:IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu> immediately. Charges are applied automatically to a student’s account once they have registered but we are experiencing some delays with this process. The SSHIP is a System wide requirement and failure for the SSHIP charge to be applied to a student’s account does not excuse a student from the enrollment requirement.
The deadline to submit all waiver requests<https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/waiver>, the Assistantship Verification Form<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/assistantship_form.aspx> (for GA’s), or to contact the ISSS at IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu<mailto:IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu> to verify your status is January 26. DO NOT IGNORE THE EMAILS ABOUT THE SSHIP:
· For students eligible for a SSHIP waiver you will need to complete a Waiver Request<https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/waiver> by January 26. Please allow the ISSS up to 10 business days to update your account once your waiver is approved by Academic Health Plans (AHP).
· For students with a graduate assistantship you will need to complete the Assistantship Verification Form linked above by January 26. GA’s DO NOT submit waiver requests. The ISSS will utilize this form to confirm your GA position and GA insurance with the A&M-Commerce HR Office and the System Benefits Office.
· Students that are not F-1 or J-1 students or have not filed for a change of status to F-1 will need to email IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu<mailto:IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu> to verify their status by January 26.
· Students who have transferred out from A&M-Commerce to another school or who are not enrolled in courses for the spring 2016 will need to email IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu<mailto:IntlInsurance at tamuc.edu> by January 26 to verify their status.
