[NewIntlStudents] Be ready for check-in and orientation at A&M-Commerce

[New International Students]

Hello 

 

The International Student Services Office (ISSO) at Texas A&M
University-Commerce is looking forward to meeting all of you next week
when you arrive in Commerce.  I wanted to provide some important
information for next week and if you have any questions or concerns you

The university will be closed on Monday, May 26 to observe Memorial Day
(a U.S. holiday).  We will reopen on Tuesday, May 27 at 8am.  All new
international students must check-in in person and attend the
international student orientation.  For a full schedule for check-in and

CHECK-IN WITH THE ISSO-  All new international students must check-in in
person with an advisor in the ISSO.  There is a list of documents and
information that students must provide and you may find this information
at
http://www.tamuc.edu/CampusLife/CampusServices/internationalStudentServi
ces/new-students/international-student-orientation-and-check-in1/documen
ts-required-at-check-in.aspx.  Copies will need to be made before you
report to the ISSO and you may make copies on-campus at the Gee Library
(number B20 on map) or the Pride Shop in the Rayburn Student Center 1st
floor (number B33 on map).  Check-in will be conducted during the
scheduled times below in the ISSO in the Halladay Student Services
building (number B17 on map) Room 104:

*         Tuesday, May 27, Wednesday, May 30, and Friday, May 30 from
9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm

*         Thursday, May 29 from 1:30pm-3:30pm

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION-  All new international students will
need to attend the international student orientation on Thursday, May 29
beginning at 8:30am.  The orientation will be located in the McDowell
Administration (BA) building (number B24 on map) in rooms 340/343 and
students may park in lots 37 or 4 on the campus map.  Parking tags will
not be required on this day but do not park in reserved spaces, handicap
spaces, or 15 to 30 minute spaces.  Students will need to report to
BA340 no later than 8:15am to sign in and receive their orientation
packet.  We will have free refreshments at orientation.  DO NOT BE LATE!
Students who are late to orientation or fail to attend will not be
allowed to register for courses until they report to the ISSO on Friday
or when they arrive.
