Hello
The International Student Services Office at Texas A&M
University-Commerce is looking forward to meeting you in just a few
days. As a reminder, the state of Texas requires all new students under
the age of 30 to receive a Bacterial Meningitis vaccination prior to
studying at a university/college in Texas. Please note that any student
who fails to meet this requirement will not be allowed to enroll in
courses which will jeopardize their visa status. For more information
go to http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/documents/Meningitis1112.pdf.
Students will need to receive a Bacterial Meningitis vaccination
(preferably in your home country) AND submit the proof of the
vaccination through their myLEO account at
http://www.tamuc.edu/myleo.aspx. Please note that students must receive
the vaccination AND submit proof through myLEO to meet the requirement.
Students receive information regarding the vaccination and any
exemptions options through the admissions office during the admissions
process. For instructions for submitting proof of vaccination through
the old myLEO please go to
http://www.tamuc.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServ
ices/new-students/bacterial-meningitis-vaccination-requirement.aspx.
If you have not received your vaccination please do so immediately.
International students may wait until they arrive in the U.S. but there
may be a limited supply of the vaccinations in our area and the cost of
the vaccination could be significant ($20-$150).
If you have any problems submitting your proof of the vaccination
through myLEO you will need to contact your admissions office. For
undergraduate students and English Language Institute students go to
http://www.tamuc.edu/admissions/default.aspx. For graduate students go
to http://www.tamuc.edu/academics/graduateSchool/contactUs.aspx.
