The International Student Services Office (ISSO) would like to
congratulate you on your acceptance to our university for the summer
2013 semester. We look forward to meeting you soon and helping you
during your studies here at A&M-Commerce.
Before a new international student can register for classes at
A&M-Commerce, they must first attend the mandatory international student
orientation on Thursday, May 30 at 9am in the McDowell Administration BA
building room 221 and check-in with an international student advisor in
the ISSO. Orientation is an important time where students will learn
more about our university as well as USCIS regulations. It is very
important that you make plans to attend the orientation. Check-in is a
time where you will meet with an international student advisor in person
and provide copies of documents and information. For a list of what you
will need to provide go to
http://www.tamuc.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServ
ices/new-students/international-student-orientation-and-check-in1/defaul
t.aspx. Please note that no student will be allowed to register for
classes until they meet these requirements.
Have you received your bacterial meningitis vaccination yet? This
requirement is a state law and you will not be allowed to continue in
your classes if you fail to meet this requirement by June 3. Failure to
meet this requirement may lead to serious visa status violations and
could jeopardize your ability to remain in the U.S. For more
information on the requirement go to
http://www.tamuc.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServ
ices/new-students/bacterial-meningitis-vaccination-requirement.aspx.
How many classes will I need to take this summer? New international
students are required to take a minimum of 6 hours (generally 2 classes)
during the summer semester. 3 hours will need to be a face to face
class that begins in summer session 1 (June 3) and the remaining 3+
hours can be face to face or online "W" web courses.
