Many of you have already been issued an F-1 visa to enter the U.S. for
your academic program. We understand that in some countries a person
may not have a first (given), middle, or family name but may only have a
given name or family name. Any differences with your name on your
passport, visa, I-20, or I-94 (issued when you enter U.S.) may
jeopardize your eligibility for a driver's license, Texas state ID card,
or social security card if you find eligible employment. Minor
differences with your name on the above documents USUALLY do not cause
problems when entering the U.S.

Please review your passport, visa, and I-20 to ensure that all the
information is correct and that your GIVEN NAME and SURNAME match
exactly on both documents. Any incorrect information on your passport
may be corrected in your home country or through your countries embassy
in the U.S. Incorrect information on your visa CANNOT be changed once
you enter the U.S.

DO NOT PURCHASE MEDICAL/REPATRIATION INSURANCE PRIOR TO THE START OF THE
SPRING SEMESTER. All international students are required to have
medical/repatriation insurance for every registered semester at
A&M-Commerce and you will be automatically enrolled in the A&M System
insurance the first day of the spring semester by the ISSO. The $274
insurance premium will be charged to your student account within the
first week of classes and MUST be paid by the 20th day of class. This
$274 charge will be a separate charge and is not included with your
tuition and fees.

The only exceptions to the mandatory insurance enrollment are students
with graduate assistantships, students with government scholarships that
include qualifying insurance, and students with a spouse employed in the
U.S. with qualifying insurance.
