[Journalism] Vital information about changes and registration.

           To all students: please register for classes before you leave
for the Christmas break. This helps the Journalism Division and it helps
you in securing those classes you need on your degree plan. 

 

            News-editorial students should take J314 after J214 this
semester. Talk with Mr. Stewart.

 

            Public relations students should enroll in Journalism 426,
even if you have not had the pre-reqs. Dr. Bridges can permit you into
the class. 

            We are pushing J328 back into the fall semester, where it
should be. Then, we will follow with J329 the spring term of 2014. Those
courses had gotten out of sync in order to assist some students. J425
may be offered in the summer of 2013, or if not, it will be offered in
the fall of 2013, again where it used to be offered. 

 

            If a class is full, and you need the class, talk to Dr.
Bridges or Ms. McIntyre in the advising office of our college. We will
try to help you. 

 

            REMEMBER: you are to follow the curricula requirements of
the University Catalog under which you entered A&M-Commerce. Please
remember also that the requirements for the bachelor's degree changed in
the fall of 2011 from previous Catalogs. Again, Dr. Bridges can assist
you. 

 

            One point: do NOT overlook physical education. Some have.
Two credits must be taken. Also, please be sure you have enough junior
and senior-level hours, that is courses numbered 300 and 400. 

 

            Internships should be approved by Dr. Bridges. If you do
not, your enrollment in J495 will be cancelled. 

 

            Check your classes carefully. Several students have not
followed University requirements or have not followed journalism
requirements. If in doubt, ask. Do not proceed without asking some basic
questions.
