[Journalism] Public Relations

            Heads-up, all public relations sequence majors.

 

            The Dallas Chapter of PRSA will have its Pro-Am Day March
16,2012 at Park City Club.  This day is one in which interested students
are paired with a practitioner, attend a luncheon and have the
opportunity to listen to a panel at which professionals will discuss the
state of today's public relations.  In effect, the student shadows the
host practitioner to see his or her organizations operation.

 

            We have had students attend in the past, and I think it is
safe to say almost all have benefitted from the event.   This is one way

to make contacts that might prove beneficial after graduation or for
internships.

Cost per student is $25.00; last year the Division was able to help with
some of that expense.  I will have to check about that this year.


 

Details are at www.prsadallas.org and early registration will begin
soon.

            I will try to start a list of students interested and follow
with announcements in class.
