[International Students]

This is an email reminder to all international students and is being sent through the Intl-Stu list serve to all international students.  Please read over this email carefully.

The Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) requires all F-1 and J-1 students to enroll in a full course of study each fall and spring semester.  Please take a moment to review the attached handout to ensure you are enrolled as required.  If you have confirmed you are enrolled correctly and/or taken the necessary steps to report your eligibility for a reduced course load (see attached handout) then no additional action is required.

After this week the ISSS will begin our SEVIS registration process and if a student is not enrolled correctly it may be difficult to resolve this after this week.  Failure to enroll as required will result in a student "falling out of status" which will jeopardize the student's ability to remain in the U.S.

Some of the most common enrollment issues we see among international students each semester are students not enrolling in enough face to face courses versus online "W" courses or students not enrolling in the required minimum number of hours.  Again, please be sure to read over the attached handout to ensure you are enrolled correctly.
