The System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP) has been updated for the 2014-2015 academic year. The International Student Services Office has updated our website to include links to the new information for the 2014-2015 academic year. Please go to www.tamuc.myahpcare.com<http://www.tamuc.myahpcare.com>. The System Student Health Insurance Plan is managed by Academic Health Plans (AHP) and the health insurance is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas:
* Students may create an account with Academic Health Plans<http://www.ahpcare.com/> and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas<https://myahpcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/BCBS-TX-BAM-Register-Login-Flyer.pdf> by clicking on the linkS. New students for fall 2014 will need to wait until the second week of classes to create their accounts due to the enrollment timeframe. The ISSO will submit the enrollment report to AHP by the end of the first week of classes. However, all coverage dates are effective from August 17 for all students.
* The coverage effective date begins on August 17 for all students and early enrollment with a coverage effective date of August 1 is available for students. Please contact the ISSO for more information about early enrollment.
* Increase in Coverage Benefits- There have been some changes with the coverage for the new academic year and students may review the summary of coverage benefits at https://myahpcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/TAMU_SBC_14_15.pdf. For the plan highlights go to https://myahpcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/TAMUS_PHF_14_15.pdf.
* Premium Increase for the 2014-2015 Academic Year- The semester premium cost for the SSHIP has increased for the new academic year. Students will need to be sure to review the premium cost enrollment information at https://myahpcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/TAMUS_Premium_Cost_Intl_14_151.pdf.
The waiver period for the System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP) is open for international students. THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT A WAIVER REQUEST IS SEPTEMBER 10, 2014. Please note that students may only request a waiver of the SSHIP in certain circumstances and must provide the proof of the alternative health insurance coverage. Coverage must comply with the requirements set forth by the A&M System regulations. Please note that students with a full-time graduate assistantship who are covered under the GA insurance plan are not required to submit a waiver request.

BE SURE TO REVIEW THE ALLOWED WAIVER EXCEPTIONS BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR WAIVER REQUEST TO ENSURE YOU ARE ELIGIBLE. Please allow Academic Health Plans up to seven (7) business days to process any waiver request. PLEASE NOTE the ISSO does not process any waiver requests.
