The ISSO has been planning for the International Education Week November
18 through November 22 and we need your help. The ISSO will be hosting
the International Coffee Hour on Wednesday, November 20 from 1pm-4pm at
the Crossroads on-campus and we need your help:
* We need volunteers to help finalize the plans for this event
and to help with promotion, set-up, help during the event, and assist
with clean-up. If you would like to volunteer to help with the coffee
hour please email John.Jones at tamuc.edu for more information.
* We also need as many cultures and international student groups
to participate with the coffee hour by providing beverages such as
coffee and tea as well as provide sweets and treats from your home
culture
If you or your international student group would like to be a part of
the coffee hour by serving beverages or sweets and treats during the
event then email John.Jones at tamuc.edu for more information. The ISSO
will reimburse for food items (only food items) up to $200 for the
coffee hour. We will provide utensils, bowls, cups, plates, and we have
a very limited supply of hot water pitchers and urns to heat water.
Last year we hosted the event outside at the Crossroads between the BA
building and AG/IT building and we attracted our largest crowd ever and
it was a great success. We hope to have more university faculty, staff,
and students stop by and we need as many cultures and groups as possible
participate.
In addition to the International Coffee Hour, the Thai student
Association will host the Loy Krathong Festival on November 19 and the
Korean Student Association will be hosting a Korean night on November
21. If any other groups would like to be part of this week by hosting
an event on-campus please contact the ISSO.
