The ISSO is hosting a five day/four night trip to San Antonio, TX this
spring break from March 10-14. San Antonio is the most visited city in
Texas and features such top attractions as the historic Alamo, the River
Walk, Sea World San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and a number of
other historical, cultural, and fun sites. The hotel we will stay at
is located within easy walking distance of the River Walk and the Alamo
in downtown San Antonio and will have an outdoor pool, free continental
breakfast, and free wifi internet. The River Walk San Antonio is a
network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River that is
lined with shops, restaurants, and other attractions. There will be
many restaurants, shops, and other attractions within easy walking
distance for students. Also, there is a great public transportation
system in downtown San Antonio that students may use to explore the
area. For more information about the River Walk go to
http://www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com/.
The cost of the trip is $300 that includes transportation to and from
San Antonio, TX, a four night hotel stay in downtown San Antonio,
admission to Sea World, and admission to Six Flags Fiesta Texas (San
Antonio). We will depart for San Antonio from Commerce the morning of
Sunday, March 10 and should arrive early that evening. We will return
to Commerce the evening of Thursday, March 14. We will spend one day at
Sea World, one day at Fiesta Texas Six Flags, and one free day to
explore San Antonio.
Students may begin signing up starting today, Tuesday, February 29 in
person at the ISSO in Halladay 104 (no email or phone call sign up).
Students will need to pay the $300 (cash or money order only) at the
time they sign up and the $300 is non-refundable after February 15. The
deadline to sign up is Friday, February 15 at 4pm. Students will stay
four to a room and if you and your friends would like to room together
then we recommend signing up at the same time. International students
with spouses/families are welcome but you will need to contact
John.Jones at tamuc.edu for the pricing information. There is a minimum
requirement of 40 students for the trip. Students who attend the trip
will be required to attend a mandatory information meeting on Friday,
March 1 at 3pm.
