Students submitting proof of medical and repatriation/evacuation
insurance will need to submit proof of insurance through the semester
they wish to register. We recommend that students have valid insurance
for the breaks and summer as well if they stay in the U.S.:
- Summer I insurance valid from June 8, 2009 until at least
July 9, 2009
- Summer II insurance valid from July 13, 2009 until at least
August 13, 2009
- Full summer insurance from June 8, 2009 until at least August
13, 2009
- August Mini insurance from August 14, 2009 until at least
August 28, 2009
- Fall 2009 insurance valid from August 31, 2009 until at least
December 18, 2009
The ISSO will be verifying student registration and any student who has
registered for courses in a semester and not provided proof of insurance
for that semester will have their courses dropped.
Any proof of insurance submitted after 1:00pm on Friday, March 13 will
not be lifted until after the break on Monday, March 23. Any insurance
submitted over break will not be lifted until after the break starting
on Monday, March 23. We appreciate your patience as we process your
insurance information. Proof of insurance may be faxed, dropped off in
person at the ISSO in BA 350, or emailed to intl_stu at tamu-commerce.edu
<mailto:intl_stu at tamu-commerce.edu> . DO NOT email your proof of
insurance to intl-stu at tamu-commerce.edu as we cannot process information
from the listserv email.
We are aware that some of the primary insurance companies used by our
students are not allowing students to purchase insurance through the
fall semester. We are in contact with these companies to address this
issue immediately so you may purchase insurance before the break.
Spring Break
The International Student Services Office will be closed for Spring
Break the week of March 16-20, 2009. We will resume normal business
hours from 8:00 am to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, starting on March 23.
Any serious emergency situations can be referred to the University
Police Department at 903-886-5868. UPD will then contact the ISSO
Director, John Mark Jones, if necessary.
If you have any other issues that require attention over Spring Break
please email me at John_Jones at tamu-commerce.edu. I will be checking my
email periodically over Spring Break and will try to respond as soon as
possible.
We wish all of our students a safe and enjoyable Spring Break.
