[International Students]

To clarify the previous email, 184 students had their housing
scholarship pulled due to not applying for on-campus housing.  Please
check your MyLeo account to verify the status of your housing
scholarship. 

 

For students whose housing scholarship has been pulled, please contact
Residence Life (Residential Living and Learning) at 903-886-5797 to
confirm the status of your housing application.  DO NOT contact the
scholarship office regarding the status housing application.  DO NOT
turn in your housing application  and housing application fee to the
scholarship office.   

 

 

If you HAVE applied for housing and paid the application fee and your
housing scholarship has been pulled, contact Residence Life at
903-886-5797 to confirm the status of your housing application.  Once
Residence Life confirms your housing application, then you will need to
contact the scholarship office at 903-886-5915 to inform them that you
have applied for on-campus housing and to discuss the reinstatement of
your scholarship.  You may also go by the scholarship office in the
Student Services Building Room 302 and provide the receipt for your
housing application fee.     

 

 

If you HAVE NOT applied for housing and you are a recipient of the
housing scholarship or your housing scholarship has been pulled, you
will need to apply for on-campus housing and pay the housing application
fee IMMEDIATELY in order to have your housing scholarship reinstated.
To apply for on-campus housing go to Residence Life in Whitley Hall on
the first floor.  DO NOT turn in your housing application and housing
application fee to the scholarship office.  Once you have applied for
on-campus housing and paid the housing application fee, go to the
scholarship office in the Student Services Building Room 302 and provide
the receipt for your housing application fee.

All students recently received an email from Dr. Mary Hendrix, the new
Vice President for Student Access and Success introducing herself and
providing information regarding Money4Me and scholarships.  

 

There has been some confusion regarding the statement below in the email
and I wanted to clarify any issue with housing scholarships.  The email
stated:

 

"Approximately 184 housing scholarships have been pulled because
students did not have contracts. If you believe you should have a
housing scholarship, please complete the contract and we will reinstate
the scholarship. If you have any questions, please contact Residential
Living and Learning at 903.886.5797. These scholarships can be
reinstated once contracts have been completed."

 

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009 the scholarship office removed the housing
scholarships for 184 students who had not completed a contract and paid
the application fee to live on-campus.  Before you contact any
department please go to your MyLeo account at
https://leo.tamu-commerce.edu/login.aspx
<https://leo.tamu-commerce.edu/login.aspx>  to verify your housing
scholarship status and whether or not it has been removed.  If you
believe your housing scholarship was pulled in error, please contact
Residence Life at 903-886-5797 to confirm your on-campus housing status.
Once you have confirmed your on-campus housing status then contact the
scholarship office at 903-886-5915 to discuss your housing scholarship.


 

Any student whose housing scholarship was pulled will need to complete
an application for on-campus housing IMMEDIATELY with Residential Living
and Learning by going to Residence Life in Whitley Hall on the first
floor or go to http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/housing/.  You may contact
Residential Living and Learning at 903.886.5797 for more information.
Once you have confirmed your on-campus housing please contact the
scholarship office at 903-886-5915 to discuss having your housing
scholarship reinstated.  

 

Please be sure to confirm your housing scholarship status in your MyLeo
and your on-campus housing application before contacting the scholarship
office.
